Found some new water to do a recon mission on. It sure did look nice, it has deep coves and an Island to hide behind if the wind were to pick up. Mariner's cove is about 1/2 mile past Silverthorn resort to the west.
BANJOTAD/Tad is going for his maiden voyage of his new yak. :smt002, All others are wecome to join in.

Dave,
We are going to put in at Mariners Pt./Campground.
Tim says it has easy launch access, looks fishy, and a new area to us both.
It is located about a 1/2 mile past Silverthorn Resort and signed well.
If you want to meet up at My T Fine Foods (corner of 299 and Deschutes) at about 8:30 you could follow us there, or just meet us at the put, in launch by 9:00.
Hope we see you out there to finally meet you.
let us know what you decide.
Tad

Just a heads up that they shut the gate into that area certain times of the year to protect nesting eagles, you might want to call the Shasta Recreation Company before heading out.  Otherwise, yes it's a really nice spot with good water, easy access, etc.  If the road is closed, Silverthorn is right there to launch and offers good water too.  I'm afraid I can't make it, but give 'er hell.  My fish on Sat were caught on Secret Agents (minnows), 10-25', close to willows.  Bite should be strong, good luck guys!
