Since my Adventure is so new to me I am hesitant to drill into the virgin hull (give me 6 months until the honeymoon wears off).  I purchased the AMA Sidekick kit and noticed that the bar diameters are similar to all my Yakima racks... guess what, they are close enough for the Yakima mounts to work!  So I purchased another center bar for the Sidekick $15 and mounting adapter plates that allows me to mount the Sidekick to the existing AMA mounts on the yak.  Now I have 2 bars fore and aft to mount 'stuff' on.  Now if I go on a long yak trip I could mount the Rocket box or bike mount on the Kayak!!!!    :smt044

Thanks,

Sure this will be for one bar setup, double everything for front and rear...

72062011 Mount bracket bottom    Quantity=2    $2.60 Each
72062021 Mount bracket top          Quantity=2    $2.60 Each
72062041 Crossbar middle             Quantity=1    $15.50
72062061 Adapter plates Adv 07+ Quantity=1    $16.50

You could probably use a Yakima cross bar and cut it to length as well, then you could mount stuff outside the gunwhale of the boat like down riggers etc...

I have 3 cars with Yakima racks so I have lot's of accesories and may cut one or two of my extra bars to test out my theory :)
