Heading south for the weekend. Not taking the yak but I wanna fish. Anyone use one of the party boats out of Ventura/Oxnard? Would love to get into something other that RF.

Out of Ventura/ Pt Huaneme I have fished off of the "Cat Special" and the "Mirage" for WSB. the Mirage is a better boat.
For a high quality experience the Apollo out of Santa Barbara harbor has the cleanest boat, and by far and away the best food and service. I think the Apolo prices are around $125/person but I'm not positive. You can look up Apollo Charters on the web & find them.
These were all overnight trips where we board on a thursday evening, steamed to the islands at night, and then fished all day Friday, returning to the harbor about 6-7pm.
The current reports indicate some WSB action off of Santa Rosa, but the winds have prevented anyone from fishing there since the 11th.

its been many moons since I've been aboard.  The one we used to take out of Hueneme was the pacific eagle.

cool thx. Yeah I am limited to the area near the hotel AND only can swing a 3/4 to full day. I'd love to target calicos, etc.

I will give the launch a call and see if they are doing anything other that RF.
