I'm getting ready to buy my first ff and was pretty much set on a Hummingbird for the transducer mount on my Trident 13, but on a recent stop at West Marine I noticed Lowrance has come out with a thru hull transducer. The "salesmen" at WM was of little help with specifics on it and they didn't have one for me to look at. Has anybody seen, or better yet installed, one of these? Will it mount cleanly on my yak?

From what I gather the Lowrance ff will be a better unit and if the transducer will mount cleanly I'll get one.

Cheers!

You might want to check if the Lowrance thru hull transducer will even fit in the enlarged transducer scupper of the T13. Have you seen the Lowrance transducer kayak scupper mount for use with their existing transducers?

From what I understand, the Lowrance scupper mount is a pretty good unit but the down side is that they forgot to leave a gap to allow the water to drain.
Here's the link to their site - check out the install video

The good news is that I will be recieving the mount shortly for the install of the Elite 5 going on to the Grand Prize Trident Ultra 4.7
I'll be able to give a better review after I recieve the unit.

You might be able to get it from this place:

They say "We do not take orders on products not in stock. " and it looks like you can order it.

I replaced my Humminbird with an Elite5 DSI on my Trident. No one had that mount in stock so I just gooped it in the same scupper where the HB xducer was. It fits easily inside the cut out of the Trident scupper on the bottom. 5 beach launches so far no problem, may look at the mount in the future though or fab something up.
