Good Morning! I hope everybody is having a nice weekend. It is that time of the year again. Time for me to start looking for volunteers to help me on my wildlife project. (Oh, I can just hear the groans....lol)

I case you don't already know, I am conducting a wildlife habitat project on 7,000 acres of high desert property that is located north of Susanville, Ca. Projects include waterhole creation and maintenance, fencing, tree cutting, planting of bitterbrush, mahogany, grasses, forbes and other food sources.

I try to arrange two or three gatherings a year, usually around a 3 day weekend. We get together and work on some of the projects, eat too much, drink too much, shoot some coyotes and generally have a pretty good time.

I don't have the whole year planned out yet but I am hoping to get some people to come up around the Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day is May 29. I am taking the rest of the week off from work. So, I will be up there the 27th through the following weekend. I am not sure what the projects will be yet. Hopefully, I will have the 3 on-going waterhole projects finished by then. If not, then we will finish them. But, that isn't a problem. There is still about 5 years of work to do on various parts of the project.

Everybody is welcome. If interested, let me know. I will post more details as the date approaches.

I should also add the short term planning. For the next two weeks, I am going to be working at the Rolling Hills casino in Corning. The casino is about a two hour drive from the property. After the first 3 or 4 days at the casino, I will be getting out of work before noon. So, each afternoon and the two weekends included, I will be on the property putting in fence posts. I am scrambling to get these waterhole projects done so that I can collect the USFWS reimbursment grant. I have a $&%*load of money out on credit cards right now and the interest payments are killing me.

So, if anybody would like to come up and get some exercise slamming fence posts, you are more than welcomed.
