Kayak Demo Day, Sat.4/16 @ Herb Bauer Sporting Goods - Fresno

If anyone from the Central Valley or Fresno area wants to demo some kayaks this weekend, I'll be working the event for Hobie with my fleet of demo yaks including a Pro Angler, Revo, Outback, and Sport.  Come by say hi, and take'em out for spin!

I got a late start fishing today, so I headed out to Millerton to check out the demo day. It was actually pretty cool. I got to say hi to some of the folks I knew and met ChuckE at the Hobie area. I was pretty surprised how many people were coming and checking out the yaks. I went a few years back and it didn't seem near as busy as today. The hobby is growing. The good news, about 40% of the folks there were ladies so I still have some hope of catching a kayak fishing woman (I can dream can't I)!

It was a gorgeous day and my first time at Millerton Lake.  I just wished I some time to explore the lake and the Herb Bauer store.

Funny things happen at demos.  One guy showed up to try out the Hobie Pro Angler.  He asked if he could try it out with some of his own fishing gear.  I told him it was actually good idea. He went back to his car brought out two rods, a tackle box of plastics, and a landing net.  He loaded them up and that was that last I saw of him for about an hour and half.
