My wife may have finally been converted to a kayaker.

I took her out to Lake Natoma for a leisurely paddle around the Negro Bar end of the lake. She took to it like a champ. I was very happy to see her be so comfortable with it. She had to spend a little bit getting used to how to paddle effectively, turn, stop etc., but she figured it out with a little instruction. We paddled around in the channels and then up toward Rainbow Bridge. We paddled around for about an hour and called it quits.  On the way home she asked how many kayaks I thought we could get on the truck when we go to Albion. She wants to bring an extra one for her to use.

Since I bought my 4.7 I now have an extra one for her and my son to use. I think the old one fits her perfectly.

We also saw a nesting goose while we were out.

Albion has a nice river right by the campsite that you can spend the day paddling. This is why I think Albion is the most family friendly gathering place for NCKA  :smt045 Hope we see you and your wife there this year!

I had the whole family there last year. My son went up the river with a group last year and my wife was remembering that. She wants to give it a try too. I may have to find a wetsuit for her too. It's a nice problem to have though.  :smt001

Good new about your wife.

Do you live up there by Folsom?  I was just mountain biking up there by Lake Natoma and Folsom lake.  Man, I don't know how the fishing is but the MBing is really good up there along folsom lake.  Nice area.

We live a short distance back from the clifftop above Negro Bar on the Orangevale side. I take the mountain bike all over the place around there. The road bike too. It's great living so close to that lake.
