Getting ready to put the front oval hatch on my Scrambler and see what I believe are two, made of different materials . My son put one on his Scrambler that is heavy rubber ( Gaspachi ? ) and fits ok although it seems a little loose to me , the other  appears to be plastic with crosslock straps , believe both are OK products . Any experience with either of these and any comparison would be appreciated .
Thinking about going with the Gaspachi and adding straps unless someone has some better ideas .
Thanks , Dan

get the cross lock straps  :smt045 The more rigid plastic covers will last longer and deal with the heat in the long run.

I've had the Gaspachi hatch cover since I bought my Scrambler XT almost 7 years ago.  Never had a problem with it.

The gaspachi cover is the only one that will fit the Scrambler. The hard plastic covers are not made to fit the opening on the Scrambler. If you have an issue with the gaspachi cover call Ocean Kayak customer service at 1-800-343-1555. Go through the series of prompts to get to Ocean Kayak.

I stand corrected. Craig is right, The Scrambler hatch dimensions are smaller than most of the OK fleet. BUT, if they do offer the hard plastic covers over the rubber gaspachi, I'd take the hard plastic covers with the cross locks. I've heard many stories from customers (I used to work for a kayak shop) saying their gaspachi cover getting blown off during long road trips.

With the gaspachi cover, I recommend that you get the hatch cover straps and install 'em over the g-hatch so you don't loose it. I've also seen Wilderness System kayaks with the gaspachi hatches get blown out even with the little leash that they install with it.
