WTG!  I'm there in 3 weeks if the perch are still there.
Gotta take my son there to get hooked on some fish.

Are they there year round or just seasonal?

I would guess year around. Can't see it making a trip to the salt. May be a bit more north when the south bay waters heat up. Just a guess.

I don't know much about pier fishing or perch fishing, but from what I've seen, the bite is pretty consistent for perch and leopard sharks. More leopards than perch. I think if you want a friend to catch a fish, and not care what it is, then a pier is a good bet. I'm going to take some of my non fishing friends there so they can hook up with a small leopard or a perch, or whatever else is biting that day. I feel the odds of catching something are better than if I were to take them bank fishing at a lake. I think...

Btw, I didn't catch the perch, I just stopped by to see what people were catching, and to do some scouting for you AOTY folks. :)

Thanks again for the intel. I'll be visiting the area soon.
Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in
    the mouth.
Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the
    best.

It's been a while since I've been on that pier. Any ladders or way down to water level ?  Some where we can get a Yak out? I'm still trying to find a way around the mudflats to get at the Sturgeon waters

Good luck out there, seems like the "regulars" on the pier use cut up pieces of store bought shrimp.  From what I've observed, fishing is better on the outgoing tide.  Good luck, I hope you do well!
