After being bedridden for 2 days, I had to go out for some fresh sea breeze at HMB.

While parked at the usual place across HMB Kayak, noticed this guy digging holes in the sandy areas where we usually launched or close to it.  Being a self proclaimed gaper clammer at Lawson's Landing, I had to go and meet up with this guy. So off I went and here's what I found out: not clams but ghost shrimps and pile worms.

Here' some pictures:
The aftermath of his digging:

In close up:

The catch:

And the master digger himself with a pile worm: Tony from Pacifica

He will be going for sturgie tomorrow on a friend's boat at Seabright.

Well, Tony, thanks for spending some time with me and wish you luck on your 3rd sturgie hunt tomorrow.

See you OTW some time soon.

I would love to dig for my own bait too but I'm so limited with
time that I have no choice but to buy. Were you able to get
any bait for yourself kuya Danny?

Still much to learn on my side but I prefer our gaper clams.

Could have but I still feel not strong enough to be able to go in the next week or so.
By the way, the water was so calm I was surprised not see any yakker out. Also, there were so few boats out you can count them with one hand.

In bed for two days!? I hope you feel better soon Danny! I dug up one of those pile worms when we were at Lawson's. I was wondering what that was. Thanks for the report bro, it's always nice to see what other people are up to.

Thanks Mooch! I've launched fm the Mavericks parking lot when I'm in a hurry to paddle out and back in. I may check on that on a minus low tide.

I felt really bad to be in bed for 2 days, that's why today, I had to go out though I still have some temperature. I noticed that my resistance is getting lower these days.
I ordered me some BarleyMax from Hallelujah Acres that's supposed to increase my body resistance. Hopefully, that will help me not get sick easily.

I would stay away from consumption of anything in the harbor, alot of stuff gets accidentally released into the water in there and does not always go out with the tide; using them for bait it would be okay....

just my 2cents...

+1 its rated HIGHLY  polluted. That being said, in the last 3yrs or so both sides have become popular with clammers. On a minus tide youll see an army of clammers out there.

I have to agree with both Sharky and G-Whiz. I've read the Hazard Signs there also. Thanks for the reminder.
