Mine is a 5mm, and I got it used from Dan Silveira because it didn't fit him anymore. The suit costs about $457 new, and i got it for $245. A 7mm costs about $513, or $486 if you get a 7mm top w/ 5mm farmer john, or $468 if you get a 7mm w/ 5mm pants.

On scuba store, however, they have a 5mm top w/ 5mm farmer john for $240.32. But I believe that Scuba Store is located in Spain, so shipping would be pricey. You might be able to save a little though, especially if you time it right and wait until the Euro decreases in value. I once estimated shipping on this site, and it was around $60 I think, so this might be a decent bet.

5 mm works pretty well for me through one dive. Flexibility and movement was great, it was easy to put on with lube, and I stayed in the water for 3 hours. I could've easily stayed in longer, but moved spots because of the surge and amount of fish out.

But to answer your questions, I'm not really sure where you could for sure get a good deal on a 7mm one, other than if you can find a used one, other than than paying a lot for shipping at scuba store, but I hope you guys are able to find one!

hey fellas,
I was in a dive shop yesterday and was talking to the owner about open cell suits.  He was telling me that there is a company down in LA who is putting out a suit similar to Picasso, but a bit more affordable.  I am going back in the shop tomorrow and I will get more detailed info.  He was also saying that the warehouse is on location so the ability to get an exact fitting suit, because they have every size on hand.  Not sure if people have run into problems with suit sizes or not?  Anyways i will get more info and post up

Sorry guys, I'm not a great reference on the best place to buy...  the best deals I've seen are from the freedive shop in Sac when they have their annual clearance sale.

I do a fair amount of competitions with Dan (the one Rick got his suit from), so I get my suits direct from Omer/Sporasub as well.

Best bet would probably be to call Freedive Shop, tell them your budget, & see what they have in stock... & perhaps on special.
In meantime, I'll check around to see what's available on open market.

In regards to scubastore - good for some suits, but they won't ship OMER/Sporasub to the US.  Regional protection from parent company.
