Congrats on your new yak!

Beer in right hand, drill in left hand.

If you are left-handed, beer in left hand, drill in right hand.   :smt044

I would set the yak on the grass and sit in the seat (beer in hand) and try placing your different gear items where you might want them, and see how it feels.  Try multiple combinations, of course this would require multiple beers - this may lead to hard mounting the next day when you can carefully handle the drill :smt003 :smt003

I suggest paddling it several times prior to the drilling.  I had my Adventure out a half dozen times before I actually put a hole in it.  Just making sure I knew where I wanted things.

WTG! The prowlers are sweet, I agree i'd paddle it a couple times to get the feel of the deck and where you'll want stuff for ease of use

excellent advice!  I did the same, in my garage, to get a feel for how much my arms extend out, ability to reach the FF and push buttons, distance my camera has to be from my face to get a decent fish porn shot, etc...

Thanks for all the support!!! Santa seem to have come a little earlier and dropped off a bunch off Scotty and RAM stuff; in addition to the new rod pod hatch.

Also my current electronics from my boat, which I was hoping to be able to inter-change with my P13, is coming up with some challenges. I Garmin GPS188C Sounder is just "a little" to big for the fishfinder storage compartment, so I may have to go with my Garmin 240 Blue and a separate GPS60CSx. After staring at this yak for hours on end, I may end up using the front Scotty hole in the Rod Pod to mount the 188C while fishing and then put in back in the fish finder storage when paddling; I can also use that storage to put some fishing tackle since the tray compartment has to be removed when using the Rod Pod Hatch...

Well... I got time to work on the boat, don't plan to be on the water until after the holidays and new year.

Thanks to all the ideas in the "Rigged Yaks" thread, it should make my work real easy. Hope to post mine on the page soon!

Well... all mods to my new P13 are on hold! There were some install screwups that put an extra hole in the sonar compartment and places were they used longer screws that broke off the plastic threads and created holes.

Good news is they are replacing the whole unit; bad news is I have to wait to install all these accessories and test out the boat....

Great news was the immediate response back for OK and efforts to rectify the situation... will post pics of mods at a later time....

Guess now I'll build the battery box and live well.....

+1 see how far you want to stretch and also if it gets in the way of serious hard core paddling
