Where did you find those guys? I thought they were only found in SoCal.

Based on some of Potto's previous posts; fishing reports from Malibu, pictures of yellowfin croaker and blacksmith, and of course these lobsters.. I'm guessing that Potto's idea of NorCal might be a bit farther south than the rest of ours.

No worries though, I believe we also have members from Maine and Alaska.

It would be nice to know where everybody's from.....Bill, would it be possible to have everyone's location under the avatar instead of fish species?

...just a thought  :smt002

How about a google map on the site with everyone's location?  Bill, I'm sure you can handle this, but if you're interested and need help, let me know.  I guess we'd just need to find out where everyone is from.  An easier option would be something like Frapper which does all of this for you, but I think it looks better when you do this yourself.  An additional option that I thiink would neat would be to list not only where people live, but also where they grew up.

A PDF from the department fish and game says
Quote
The California spiny lobster ranges from Monterey Bay, California to Manzanillo,
Mexico. There is also a small, isolated population of this species at the northwestern
end of the Gulf of California. The majority of the population is found between Point
Conception, California (Santa Barbara County) and Magdalena Bay, Baja California,
Mexico. Adult lobsters usually inhabit rocky areas from the intertidal zone to depths of
240 ft or more.
