River anchor

I trying to rig an anchor ala drift boat where I don't bring it in everytime. I want to be able to drop anchor and bring it up without bringing in the boat everytime. That way when I fish for steelies I can drop anchor often without much hassle. I have been thinking of running the line thru PVC that starts next to the seat and extends past the back of the yak so when I raise the anchor it will hang out of the water.
Any experience or ideas would be appreciated.

Maybe Mooch should put one of these or his ride!!!

Another would be the Scotty Trap-Eze... designed for lifting and lowering crab traps but fits in a standard scotty mount.

I thought I saw the Trap Eze at the Outdoor Pro Shop.  Not sure on the anchor lock.  OPS has a good selection of Scotty stuff though.  Might also check West Marine.

Just make sure you figure out a decent quick release system 

I don't think quick release is necessary for Steelhead fishing in the river... (unless you are in the Sacramento river and you hook into a Dino up there).

Thanks for the warning Bill I will be fishing the Russian where I know the river well, and the flows are pretty dinky.
Don't think the release is needed but I know shit happens, in case something does I can always let the rope slide thru, and kiss the anchor good-bye. 
It's always important to plan for the unexpected.
