Hi from L.A. again,   :smt004

I finally got OTW for the first time this year at Cabrillo beach, very near my house. Was only able to fish about 2 hours.  It was nothing to write home about but I FINALLY got back out.  It was quite warm, a beautiful day.  I caught 5 lizard fish and one tom-cod.  There were LOTS of birds but they were not feeding.  They were just sitting on the water like they were waiting for something.

Here's the dumb question:  I wonder if these small lizard fish would work for halibut bait?  Seems like they would.  I posted the same question on a board down here. --  I wear my "newbe-ness" with honor.   :smt002   Anyone ever use lizard fish for halibut bait?

Hali is an ambush fish and using their eyes' sight to spot preys,  therefore bright color fish like Shiner will attract them easier but most baits/lures will work if you dangling it in front of them.
