Chuck E, Stuart, and I fished China Camp area on Monday 2/6/06.  It was my first time fishing on my brand new tarpon 140, second time kayak fishing. According Chuck E, the conditon was probably the worse he has seen in San Pablo Bay.  Very choppy, with wind gust and white caps.  It wasn't the most ideal condition for a novice kayaker like me.  I guess that the only way to learn.  We fished the Channel markers of bullhead flat about 200 yard out.  Too rough to paddle out to the 'honey hole'.  We then fished around the Rat rock trying shelter from the wind.  fished the outgoing tide from 8:00 am til noon for nada.  no sturgeon love today.  I got one 3 lb flounder.  That was about it.  I was hoping me being a newbie would bring Chuck E some good luck, so he can finally catch his keeper sturgeon.  Sorry Chuck,  :smt009 maybe next time.  I was just happy to be on the water and to come back safely.

Eugene.

Way to go Eugene!!!
You got some great experience under your belt with those conditions. I know Chuck E. is a trooper and can handle the worst conditions.
I am 0-4 on the sturgies thus far. Every time out I increase my odds though.

Tote... you might be 0-4... but I'm 0 for more times than I can count (or willing to admit).  :smt010
Some guys like Eyeatbay and Freddie are unbelievely 2 for 3.
How that heck do we explain that when we're using identical rigs and baits and fishing side by side? :smt017

BTW... Eugene is definitely a natural kayak fisherman.  I watched him deal with some of the ugliest bay conditions like an old pro.  I can't wait to see his face when he gets out in the open ocean and experiences some WFO rockfish action.

Eugene, wow, wind, choppy seas, white caps...you're not a "paddle" fish sounds like you're a "banzai" fish.  Next thing we know you'll be following Blue Kayak out to Dux.  You went with one of the best fishing guides around so if you didn't catch a keeper they must not have been around.  Probably cruised down to Mavericks to get a front row seat.  I hope you liked your Tarpon and we'll see you out there.

ChuckE, statistically you're due...you seem to catch everything else in the water so maybe on the trip?

Hey P-fish, how do you like your T 14?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Eugene,

It was nice to meet you.  I'm 0/2 on this sturgeon gig.  Can't wait for salmon or rockfish to open up.  I need a little action!!!
