That's bizarre!  Gotta be a freak incident and not an attack by the fish, but that's scary - that fish must have been hauling ass to leave the water and break her ribs.   :smt103

Wonder if she wear a PFD.  I would think the PFD would've soften the impact.  I would nerver go kayaking without a PFD even in tropical water.

That incident happened months ago. Also, the accounts I saw at the time left a lot of questions. Rather than a barracuda, some thought the wounds were caused by a giant needlefish. I don't know if that's the case, but it is believable. Those things are aggressive and they jump.

These fish are probably one of the fastest fish in the water. If you have ever fished the mangroves where barracudas are you know what I mean. I have been reeling in fish and had them cut in half when when a cuda hits them. This is not the first time this has happen there.
