If you're trolling, I had the most luck while trolling gold KastMasters in the Half Moon Bay area. Everywhere else is just hit-and-miss. The ppl at the marina would be able to tell you where it is on the map. Good luck.

I was just there less than 2 weeks ago. Caught a 18" trout (I'm not good at guestimating fish weight) on Berkeley power worm flourescent green. There is an island near the marina. Try to fish and go around it first. That's where I caught mine. Kayak cart is a must. It's a short hike from the parking lot. Make sure your yak is dry, although they didn't even bother to inspect mine. They only looked at the previous inspection paper. There was a guy who caught a big trout in half moon bay area before the dam. It's a small reservoir. You can paddle around the whole lake without breaking a sweat. Good luck!!

Silver spoons i.e. kastmasters if it's sunny, gold spoons when cloudy or overcast. Rapala SR-5s or J5/J7 firetiger or ones with some chartreuse in them. My $0.2 They planted some toads up there on Wed.

I was there 2 days ago with a buddy on a rental boat. Caught one casting out a gold kastmaster near coots landing near where they plant fish, and got one other trolling a j7 firetiger. two other boats came in at the same time and had the best luck with the j7 firetiger as well, one being about 8 lbs... good luck!

I've been dying to try my luck at Lake Chabot for a long time.  Funny part is that Lake Chabot is just on the other side of the hill from my house. I'm planning to hit the lake tomorrow, never been a lake fisherman before but I am willing to try something different other then ocean fishing.
