Need to vent:

Most of you who some my post on my kayak knows that I spend WAY too much on friviless stuff; but nonetheless, I like too...

In an attempt to correct some of the concerns regarding layout of water intake and exhaust, I contacted and ordered parts from "LiveBaitLarry.com". After recieving a payment confirmation email, I was under the assumption that is was on its way. Calif-to-Calif is 2days when shipped via Priority Mail 94.2% of the time; I know I work for the USPS.

After not recieving anything yesterday, I contacted them this morning; and boy are they RUDE on the phone. After a few minutes they finally told me that they were running 14 day behind on shipping. I asked them why they charged me for the parts if it has not shipped; she looked the order and said that it will go out today. I asked her why wasn't I notified about the delay, I could have got the part elsewhere? She asked for my name, found my order and said very rudely, "It will be funded back to your account tonight."

Great customer service!!! They lost my business for life.... I will look esle where to find the parts!!!!

{done venting}

that is lame...

I know something happened just like this to a friend at the Newport Diving Center Online.

I wont buy from either shops, thanks for sharing.

Ive been making a real effort to support my local dive shop and have found they will order me anything, with no shipping fees and quickly.

Sorry to hear that!

had a similar situation with one of the big kayak vendors (might even be a NCKA sponsor). I stopped using them and point ppl to Hook1. I have even asked them (Hook1) to find some parts for me and they have happily done so. Great to support local (or kind to NCKA) shops.

+1

Hook1 rocks and Karen and Mark are GOOD people...can't say enough good things about them!

Yeah, I was telling Porky the other night about a crappy experience trying to order some speargun accesories online at http://www.ndc-online.net/ and that I was very disappointed.  :smt012

I try to support my local brick and mortar stores when I can, but sometimes they don't got what I need and/or I can't get out of work in time to visit them during business hours so end up buying online after looking around for the best possible price for the item I want.

If you have time, and have a local shop that will order the item for you for the same price (or better) than what you can find online than that would be an ideal situation I think!!  :smt001

I have also had extemely positive experiences with the following online vendors:

http://www.neptonicsystems.com/  (their site is down for repair right now, but is meant to be back up tonight)

http://www.leisurepro.com/

http://www.austinsdiving.com/

http://www.makospearguns.com/store.php

Thanks for sharing your experience with LiveBaitLarry with all of us.

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

I've only ordered from Freediveshop so far, so no comparison.  But they were fantastic with my orders and customer service.
