I want to fish Fort Ross for the opener but I'm taking the family with me. Is there a nice campground with showers and bathrooms in the Fort Ross area? I usually fish farther north and stay ay manchester when I take the family.

I've met a lot of NCKA'ers @ Ocean Cove, just a short jaunt from fort Ross it's private and cheap...I met BloodBath there last year and he wanted to do Ft Ross...we went and did not kick any ass... :smt010 only thing I didn't like bout Ft Ross was the drag down to the beach didn't have wheels..and the walk back down after the yak pac...now if I would've tagged some fish, I probly wouldn't be whineing... :smt003 all though I must say, I was fishing live bait in the kelp paddies and got spooled by a sea lion...I was sort of nodding at the wheel, and WHAM!!! scared the stuff out of me...almost knocked me off my Yak..... :smt003
It's all about Today!!! Because who knows what tomorrow will bring... so Better get OTW n GetSome

Rent a place at Ft ross lodge and fish and make points at the same time. Some of the places have hot tubs too and thats a real plus after diving. Go for it .

Ocean cove is my favorite of the campgrounds near ft ross. it has the nicest sites with lots of scenic coastal trails,a grocery store,boat-ramp,fish cleaning station. bring quarters if you want to take a hot shower. i think craig is referring to the timber cove lodge which is close by and very nice.

No Jack I mean the little ft ross places to rent right across the street from the ft ross store. kind of like  apartments. They built those in the 80's. We have stayed at one that was real nice with a hot tub on the back deck overlooking the south point of timber cove.

My understanding is that he doesn't rent those out anymore, he has his kids living in them. That what I heard last weekend when I was there. So it is not a fact.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Yea, that is the lodge by Ocean cove, the owner of ocean cove had a couple of cabins that he rented out and that is what I thought they were talking about. Fort Ross Lodge is still open.
