I know some of the guys wear one piece dry suits but I'm thinking about paddling pants.  I have an NRS paddle jacket that keeps my top half warm and dry but the wetsuit isn't doing it from the waist down.  NRS and Immersion Research have pants that have a neoprene waist band and leg openings with neoprene and Velcro closures similar to the ones on my paddle jacket.  Does anyone have these or know anything about the effectiveness of these pants for dryness and warmth?  The online descriptions sound good but marketing statements can be very self-serving?

I wear these over my farmer johns and they have worked well for me and keep my legs dry and warm on windy, cold, wet days....

Here's how I keep my butt dry - while wearing my farmer john. Buy some cheap seam sealed rainpants and cut 'em just above the knee (turn 'em into board shorts) and basically wear it over your FJ's . With this, you can still hang your legs over the side and yet keep the water from crawling up you leg pant :smt002

Thanks for the replies.  I just ordered the NRS Endurance Paddling Pants.  They're very similar to the ones Jim mentioned in his post.

I've looked at those on a few occasions. I wore out my Endurance jacket (it finally delaminated around the neck after about 5 years) but was always impressed by the tough fabric & overall construction.

Paddle pants with neoprene ankle gaskets = awesomeness

Paddle pants with rubber ankle gaskets = awesomeness if you like having all the hair on your legs ripped out by a rubber gasket.
