Can you set the spire head into the mold and mold mr. octi around it?  Color the lead head first and use a semi-transparent color on for the plastic and get a 3D color effect.

It looks like a ling killer to me!  I have never really seen an "octoplastic" before and I really think you are on to something.
I would fish it with a squid strip off the hook too for double insurance.  Looks great!
I am sending you out as sheep among wolves.

Looks good if possible make the legs like a scampy tail 3-4 of those suckers moving around in the current and it would attract something if not it would look really pretty while trying.

Thanks guys,

I am going to play around with molding the head in place.  The only disadvantage I can see is when all the legs get bit off, the lure head would still be molded in the body.  It would look great though.  Little scampi tails on the leg ends may be something to play with.  I can't wait to send these down and see what they can do!  I really like the squid ball heads.  I am going to toss one in the pool, and see what kind of action I can get.  I will do a video if the pool isn't too green!

I wonder how a torpedo weight with eyes on each end would work on your sic ass octo lure? If you slit the body fron the bottom and inserted the weight vertically just so the top eye popped  to the line then 2 assist hooks out the bottom. great lookin lure Matt!
