I recently installed six bungee knobs on my rod pod so I could better fasten loose stowaways and misc. tackle OTW.  Unfortunately I found the lip on the knobs too small and lashing taller items like plano boxes was virtually impossible so I drilled out the knobs and replaced the 4 corners with round deck fittings.  In order to allow the rod pod to seat and buckle tightly, I riveted them from the bottom - and then covered the rivets with 3M 5200, allowing the sealant to seep into the rivet hole and up into the fittings.

The center spots where the knobs were, I elected to replace with eye pads, so in order to keep them centered, I needed to patch and fill the old rivet hole were the knobs had been.  I put some scotch tape on the top of the rod pod and filled the hole from the bottom with 5200.  Once it had dried (a few days) I sliced it off with a razor blade and hit it with a sharpie.  Once the eyepads were installed, I added the bungee with two strap hooks and took the opportunity to add a rod leash I made from an old cell-phone charger (thanks for the tip rockfish) to the top right fitting.

We'll see how it works...

Sorry to threadjack, but if others have pics of their rigged rodpod, I'd like to see it.

If anyone is experimenting with their rod pod lids and mess up, let me know.  I got a couple used ones I can send out as replacements.  I have no use for them after upgrading to the new rod pod lids.
