20/25 and she is still hanging around you?  becareful dood!  :smt003
Yeah right, she thinks Im quite the handsome boar with all the right man parts. :smt005

Sin coast: my Gf had astygmatism and was farsighted. So it must work. They also have some new Wavefront thing, apparantly it gives you HD.

Yakuza: That's what I did, I laughed and said I was just shopping around and had a couple other appointments, Then I told her Ill give her $100 dollar bills and the bite was on. :smt003  She had it done the same day as the appointment.  And Dr. Ellis does all the surgery's himself.

Good to know!  I have always wanted to get it done, but chickened out for various reasons, (one eval. lady told me there was absolutely no risk, even when I asked what about if there was an earthquake during the procedure...  sounded like she was on commission, plus I've heard a few horror stories of botched procedures).

Good to know they will wheel and deal.  I am extremely nearsighted and hate being dependant upon contacts.  No way could I even drive without contacts.

:smt044  I'm totally going to bite that hypo, good one dude.  every procedure has risk.  if they state no risks, that's not informed consent, that's straight misrep to the max, battery, etc.

You've got to go car shopping with me sometime!   :smt005

But seriously, you had 2K in your pocket on the chance that the eval would go well and he could do it same day?  that's great.  so far, all the practitioners have told me they split their consult days from their surgery days.

no no, I cut the deal, and then told her I'd be back with the cash in an hour. They wouldn't start the procedure without the cash.  They DID however make my GF sign a bevy of forms stating how it is an elective procedure and you could go blind, they have no liability, blah blah. But they were scary enough to make her think twice and call me before signing her sight away. Anything could happen, but one things for sure, if you dont do it, your vision wont get any better.  :smt003 Then again, i see ok, so..... :smt005

Martin -

Don't know if I would go with that guy http://lasikcomplications.com/tiger-woods.htm. Maybe the poor vision caused his marital problems.  :smt005 Complications can be significant and us old guys don't care that much about appearance so bring on the bifocals.  :smt005

Scott, I don't know how I ended up missing this post!   :smt044  Too funny.  Le Tigre should get another correction judging from the skanks he's cavorting with.  I mean, c'mon, with that kind of cheddar, his playpen should be top shelf, and plentiful.

I ended up going PRK (not LASIK) last weds.  Bottom line, it hurt like hell (including the procedure itself) for three straight days, I'm seeing three moons at night, and $4,300 lighter in the pocket.  Additional details to follow, but lets just say it was the worst xmas ever, and no one should ever ever ever EVER get PRK done on their eyes.  :jerk:
