I'm thinking of taking the wife up to Northcoast and camping the week after Christmas.  Do you know if the weather is conducive to that in that area/time of year?  Also, do you have any recommendations for places to camp, eat, visit?

Thank you  :smt111 :smt117

A most excellent time to camp up there, as for weather you gotta be ready for rain, or don't go.

Salt pt state park, no showers, or Stillwater cove Sonoma County parks, with showers.

In that area there isn't allot to do, but it's beautiful between rains, if that area is your choice, don't miss the Two Fish bakery, (breakfast, lunch and baked goods). And the Annapolis Winery, both on Annapolis rd which heads east off Hiwy 1 in the searanch area. North of there is Gualala, with more eats and a really upscale grocery store (to serve the Searanch residents)

If you want a little more variety in stuff to do, head to one of the state parks in the Mendo - Ft Bragg area.
Lots to do in those towns,

Here's a couple weather links.

Manchester is very nice.

probably would have the entire Manchester state park to yourself this time of year too.  there is a nice 5 or 6 mile beach to walk on.  be prepared for any type of weather this time of year.

Fort Bragg Is were the Lady and I visited the Glass Beach Park.. It wasnt spectacular but was pretty cool to see the masive amounts of seaglass there. You could dig ten feet and thats all youll see. Theres also the Glass muesem in town that was pretty interesting. Camp at the Albion Rier Campground and go crabbing off the dock. :smt004
