I just heard today that CDFG is stocking LOTS of fingerling striped bass in lake Mendocino today and Friday.  The fish are comming from the closure of the last remaining striped bass hatchery in Chico.  The aquaculturist had to shut down because the property that he leased was sold.  Hopefully these little guys will grow up big and make for great tourney fish in the future.

How small?  Would it be worth trolling a plug that looks like a striped bass looking plug with the thought that the big boys will go on a feed, much like you can fish rainbow trout looking lures after a plant?

Anyone know the growth rate on stripers ?  Might be pretty fast in Mendo.  I hear it's full of primo forage.

The lake would have to clean-up at least a tiny bit, right now its EXTREMELY dirty.
