7 keepers with 1 ring outstanding.  Did you head down towards the Estero or closer to the jetty?  I had hoped to go on Sunday but it looks like its going to blow big time.

nice. I always just run 1 ring myself, never had a problem with getting plenty of crab

i have been getting a lot of crab and seeing a lot of ncka at doran since last sat. I was there on veterans day when these 2 11yr old kids came up and asked if i could use my kayak to unsnag their only crabpot that they bought together. How could i say no? (if i could have thought of a way,i would have said it). So i took a long pull on the wine bottle, peeled my fat ass off the picnic table and paddled over to the jetty. After freeing the kid's hoop-net, i was consecutively hailed by 8 other people with snagged hoop-nets. I was able to free each one without leaving the comfort or my kayak. It was a great way for a vet to spend veterans day. I actually felt like a hero. So if you are ever at doran waiting for your pots to soak, I highly reccomend you take a paddle along the jetty and give back. It feels real good.

Right-On Jack...Had to help a jetty angler too...He waved me over in my yak...Stated that four people went blowing by him...and just looked the other way...He had three rings, all wedged in the rocks...Couldn't get the first one un-buttoned,but after only a few minutes...Was able to free the other two....You could tell just by the look in the man's eyes,he was grateful...A few minutes of my time...enabled him to spend the rest of the day on the water, instead of going home with no crab rings...Blessed to be out there enjoying what i love to do...and helping out a brother in need..!!!

Once upon a time, long, long ago; I was that kid on the jetty with all his hopes snagged on the rocks at the bottom of the sea.

GPS coordinates? are you serious? The crab are everywhere. i reccomend you follow the line of the rear jetty strait out 1-2 miles and let em soak for as long as you can stand it. The commercial crab season opened today so the numbers are gonna start to drop fast. try to get your pots in atleast 30ft of water.

Last time I was out I wasn't asked to free any hoops, but I offered to take a few out for a long distance soak. The little offer of assistance was greatly appreciated.  Doesn't take much sometimes...Karma, it comes and it goes...never know when you'll need a little in return.  :smt004
