Just saw this and thought it looked perfect for situations where you don't want a mounted RAM ball sticking up when not in use...   :smt004

Or for a whole lot cheaper you can just install a flush mount Scotty and use the adapter below. I use this exact system on my P-15. I think the total cost was ~$9 for the flush Scotty mount and ~$10 for the Ram ball to fit it.  :smt003

Was going to suggest the same thing, except its not exactly easily removable because of the bolt.  But for the price, looks like a better option, its over 60$ for the other one.  Wonder if it would stand up to O2B's WSB test as well  :smt004

Well, you know us Hobie guys, we've got money to burn...

Honestly, I didn't even notice the price of the RAM mount I posted...hahaha.  Thanks for the price-saving option!

I never try to remove it on the water because like you say, I would need a screwdriver. But, it is incredibly strong. I use that mount for trolling, and on one of the Islander trips I had a dead sticked jig sitting in the holder when a rather large bonito grabbed the lure and started diving. The bonito surely isn't as strong as O2B's WSB, but it did have my MH Trevala doubled over and nearly tipped me over. The mount didn't budge a bit.
