Hey guys, I was out with Abdiver admiring his drift anchor over the weekend
http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,26406.0.html
and I decided to make something similar.  This is when I remembered my buddy has been collecting, processing and selling lead for a while now, so I reserved 12 lbs. for my anchor and another 20 lbs. for Rockfish.  This made me wonder if anyone else is in the market for clean lead.  I don't know a ton about metals or casting, so I don't know if this is ideal for other fishing applications.  All the lead is located in Sacramento, but with the miracle of flat rate shipping boxes from the post office, it can ship at very reasonable rates.

Details:
ALL MY LEAD IS FROM BULLETS.  The lead is from soft lead wire used in making cores for handgun bullets.  It has been tested at 9-10 bhn, which is soft. Price = $1/lb. Ingots can be had in the following sizes: 1lb, 2lb, 8.5lb.
Shipping is via USPS flat rate box. 60lbs can fit into a box and ships for $11.40 with a USPS tracking no.  I have shipped thousands of lbs like this all over the U.S. successfully.  I have the packaging method down to a science.  The lead will make it to you intact.

Lead is getting rare and expensive. Wheel weights aren't lead anymore. This is a good deal if someone needs lead. I can pour dive weights for people.

Let me know if there is anything you want to trade for lead. I have a brand new Scotty rod holder and other stuff.

They still use lead for the wheel weights but it has this foam 2 sided tape which wont be nice to smell when melting the lead. Plus the impurities are horrendous. Those look like real clean hunks.

I've tried melting the new ones and they won't melt. Most of them have FE stamped on them. They are ferous metal and won't melt at lead melting temps. There may still be a few shops using lead but I think the EPA outlawed the lead weights. I'm not positive about that.

Let me know what your schedule is like this week to grab the lead for your anchor. I poured Ricci tonight.

beautiful!  I'm around all week - My office is in Davis, my house is in South Land Park, so I'm bouncing between there all week but I can meet you in Carmichael... Or?
Wednesday evening or Friday morning are best, but I can make just about anything work.
