They travel 800 miles with 6,000 feet of elevation gain and then have to go over and around all the crap we (humans) throw at them, Salmon rock!

900 to the mouth of the columbia and then another 900 to the end of their trip in Idaho so that makes 1800 miles. Oh yes, salmon do rock!
