Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

sorry to hear that news,  :smt009.

ocean beach is powerful. I have been momentarily pinned to the bottom,
probably 10 feet down on my board and this is on a medium sized
day, maybe only 10 foot on the face of the set waves.

today, I surfed sunday afternoon. we looked @ ross cove,
just north of mavericks. too big. we laughed
at the thought of our 40+ year old bodies out @ ocean beach,
and headed south to scott's creek reef break,
which itself has scared both of us before even tho it's typically smaller
and has a paddling channel back to the break.

It was treacherous even there, I got my leash snapped and
had a very long swim in after my board,
but the waves that I rode were pretty darn fun.

I'll ask my surfer neighbor about this - would love to see a close up from a kayak :smt007

go mooch go! looking forward to the pictures.

if the wave breaks and the wave hits out in the flat, the wave breaks
"top to bottom". This is a much more dangerous situation and something
that the best surfers seek out. the rest of us are happy with something
a bit better than "mushburgers" but maybe not "top to bottom".

In the pictures above you see a 20 foot tall wave break "top to bottom",
which is a pretty scary thing.
