I did some kayaking in the shallow water of the bay side of the keys. The barracuda can easily get 4 - 6 feet long there. They also leap out of the water to chase prey. That might have been what happened here.

i got one last year during the WSB run in MB. Was about 3ft long.  Short but fast runs

Eric they get aslong as the white sea bass you are holding with no problem. They are a lot of fun to catch. Top water action is the best. Did that in Cancun using Zara spooks. And in florida using Lady fish or anything else on the end of your line if you did not get it in fast enough. Same with the sharks there too.
