Good luck tomorrow Mike. I hope you get your limit this time around. Unfortunately,

I fished Lover's Point today, sadly, no activity.

I recommend the LP launch at the end of Forrest St, that will give you a shorter paddle to the are the squid boats are working.

Free parking there on public streets, and a protected launch with a bathroom.

So, today the weather was mixed:  a bit breezy and choppy at 0830, then calmer till 11:00 or so.
Whitecaps started to appear around 12:30., and chased me off the water.

Interesting day:  very few private fishing boats, it was just me and a dozen squid boats. Sounds promising, I know. The squidders were moving all day, and I didn't see them finding much. Marks were few, small, and far between on my meter.

One good thing to report- no drama with squid boats trying to scare me. No drama at all, and a few crews were pretty friendly and curious to know if I stuck any fish. It would be easy for those guys to miss a tiny little boat like mine in the ocean, so a flag and a little marine air horn are smart things to consider. Keep your head up and paddle ready.

So, this wsb fishing is absolutely hit and miss. I wish you a great day tomorrow...tight lines.
Always willing to join others in the Monterey/Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay area for a bit of fishing...feel free to contact me.

Paul, thanks for the report :) However I'm sorry to hear that the wsb were still dormant. That's why I opted for SWS rather than chasing ghosts literally. I know that conditions aren't great later this week, but I think the bite will pick up soon. It's been already several days of bust.

Wish all those who do go out the very best of success!! :D
