Hey there all, my first post. Been lurking for a while and had trouble getting logged in, but Eric helped me with emails, thx.

Gonna be going to Morro bay with family Sept 18-19. I have not been in the ocean yet and dont have any ocean gear yet, but I am familiar with the area. I know some people like to cruise the bay area with the marina and across to the sand dunes. Any other areas. Anyone fish this area before? Trying to decide to make my first step to the open water fishing on this trip or not.

Welcome to the forum Mike! I saw your post on TTalk announcing your kayak to the dirtbike world. lol.

Wish I could help you re:Morro, but I'm not familiar with the fishing in that area. Hope to meet up with you someday at one of the NCKA events though. jim

Im retired now and have taken up fishing as a new to me sport. May get an alum 17' bass boat too. Looking for new job to work for a few years and get my house paid for and then a house boat up here with friends. The next year or so will tell as I try n get another cop job that pays well and is M-F days, might be hard to find.
