Talked to an associate about dive fins yesterday and he showed me A pair of the fins in the following link. He told me these were much better than any long fins available. Said they were approved by fire and rescue for great power and thrust. Any feedback? Gonna buy A pair of fins for myself to start the new year. :smt006

Open heel fins give less power transfer but the main issue is that the buckles can get caught in the kelp. I would get full foot fins. Call freediveshop. They have some great deals on the right fins. The power of the fins doesn't matter much unless you are diving deep ot fighting fish bigger than we have up here.

+1 Freediveshop, don't use scuba fins for free diving.  There is a reason! :)

I love my Cressi Gara Sub Rondine 2000. I went with the open heel because I can wear booties with thicker soles for hiking along the rocky shoreline.
Whatever fin you decide on make sure you try it on with whatever you will be wearing on your foot. Some booties are way thicker than others. The originall booties I wanted to use didn't even fit the opened heel fins.
