Talked to a PB'er  today who was fishing the morning up at Four Mile in about 70 fow. Said there was a 12 foot GWS swimming around all morning that ate a couple floating rockfish.

Sorry, but where's Four Mile? 4 miles from where?

Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on going out Saturday from Capitola up to Pleasure Point in hopes of a fall halibut, but have been feeling a little uneasy with all the information lately about GWS. I guess I'll break out my perch gear or rent a skiff.

Thanks again,
Dean

About Four Miles north of Santa Cruz city limits - beach, surf spot, etc.

Four Mile is a popular local beach 4 miles north of Santa Cruz on highway 1. It's a state beach and  joins with Wilder Ranch State Park. It's a MLPA now but only to about 120' offshore. You can't fish the shore anymore but I talked to a Ranger there and he said it was still OK to launch.  I don't know if all the Rangers feel that way or if it's still true or not. I think normal transiting a MLPA rules apply. Used to be a good place to fish from shore for Hali's.
