Decided to make a run out to the A/R this evening.  Trolled from the mouth up to the 160 bridge for 3 Stripers.  No keepers but it sure was fun!  Biggest fish of the night went 16".  All caught on a rainbow trout pattern rapala.  Best part of the evening was seeing the occasional Salmon surface here and there  :groupwave

P.S. - I'm always lookin' for company!  PM me if anyone wants to meet up!  I'll probably be runnning a Steelhead trip later this week up by Sunrise for some half-pound action along with a few more trolls around the lower AR.

Hey SS, nice report from the AR.
I've fished the Lower AR from a PB but wonder where to launch from near the lower section.
Where do you put in? Can you fish until sunset without a gate locking your car in?
Any help would be appreciated!

Would like to tag along to fish Lower AR sometime soon.

Thanks!

Tony,
You can launch from Discovery Park. The ramp below the Jibboom bridge has less traffic than the main ramp. No room for trailers at Jibboom. I don't know what time the gates close.

I launch at Discovery (sandy beach side) and then head upstream towards the ''bend''.  One of the reasons I like my Hobie so much is that it gives me the ability to cover a lot of water at a pretty decent pace without getting too tired.  Also, with the flows being so low right now, it's a pretty easy trek upstream for both paddler and peddler.  As far what time the gate closes, I'm not too sure since there's usually a decent amount of trailers in the parking lot when I leave, however there are times when the ranger starts bootin' people about 15 minutes after sunset.  In any event, I wouldn't be caught after dark by myself in that place unless I'm with a buddy.

Here's a pic I snapped from last night..."wishful thinking"

Thanks guys!

I'll check out that launch soon.

Wish I had the $ to add a Hobie to the fleet, rented one at Tahoe once, a Sport - the slowest one in the fleet.
It sure was fast, and it handled 20mph winds and a 1.5 foot wind chop easily!

For now, I paddle...
