I'm new to your board up here. Good to see Hook 1 as one of your sponsors, Mark and karen are good folks. I've been on a couple of Mexico kayak trips with Mark and had great fun.

The reason I'm posting is that I'll be camping on the Russian river starting next Thursday for 5 days. Bringing a tandem for my wife and I and I would like to hit the salt water for a bit of fishing. Been following reports of Still water cove in the Jenner area. Any help would be appreciated, I'm assuming Rock fish will be the standard catch?  What types of lures, bait, etc? anything to look out for?
tks all

Welcome! Don't know much about the area but you can use the "search" feature on the upper right hand. Just type in "Jenner" and you most likely get some info...

For rockfish, IMO - 4 to 6 ounce lead jig head with a frozen squid pinned on it will produce.

There was a white shark encounter just recently with a spear fisherman....just a heads up.

I pretty much live on the river and if you need any info PM me. 1 thing I suggest you don't miss is a mocha and a pastry from the bakery at the north side of the Duncan Mills Bridge unbeatable. My wife really enjoys catching the out going tide at Cassini Campground stopping at the bridge for coffee and pastries(WAF bigtime :smt007) then paddling down to Jenner having a lunch on the beach the catching the incoming back to the launch or reverse in the afternoon and watching the sunset from Rivers End restaurant overlooking the mouth of the river (don't order the sole).
