Fishing Lake Merced

Anyone up to date on Lake Merced in San Francisco? There are lots of articles on the WWW about its depletion as a fishery and about plans to raise the water level and better manage it. Anyone fished any of its lakes in the last two years? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! (this is my first post!)
