Fort Bragg,Mendo diving and/or rockfishing 8/8

My dad and I are staying in Mendocino on Sunday, and I wanted to get in some ab diving/spearfishing, maybe some rockfishing too. I have a kayak now, so I'm up for diving from the yak or for shorediving. Last time I scouted a bit and Van Damme, Russian Gulch look like cool areas to try.
Any time on Sunday, maybe early morning before we leave on Monday.
Conditions permitting, of course.
