I'm planning on playing hookie from work next Thursday and would like to try for the elusive salmon out of moss.  It would be my first try and I'd love some seasoned company to show me the ropes.

Barring any Moss vetran assistance, I'll launch out of the SCruz harbor and try my sooper-seekrit spot for halibut.  Company is very much welcome!

I am looking to go out Thursday, but am going to try to squeeze in a ski day, so I'll be checking things Wed p.m..
Right now, NWS Forecast Discussion says it's a guess what Thurs will bring, but did mention possible first marine layer in months(which should bring wind, upwelling, cold water and more fish, but make it more difficult to go out in either fog then wind, or fog together with wind). Surfline has the swell at medium or so.  The tides look favorable for some help going out the jaws early, with help back in mid-day. The Marine has the wind shifting to NW before Thurs, but that's probably a guess.
As for experience at Moss, I've only been out a half-dozen times, a couple of them in very calm conditions.  Midweek, I like the North launch better than behind the south jetty, but either will do.

I should be able to get out Wednesday or Friday if that works for anyone?

Okay, the plan is now to run out the kayak from SCruz harbor around 9:00AM tomorrow morning.  I'll troll with barbless hooks out past the mile marker and then come back and try for an early halibut at the usual spot.

People who wish to join me... I'll be launching from the kayak pad on the west side of the harbor.

Yes, I'll be going out of Moss Thursday 6:00 a.m launch near the kayak co./main boat launch at north harbor.  Read the coastside reports to see whatdirection to head, but the wind is supposed to  be light from the east & turn to NW and pick up pretty good in the afternoon, so NW might be a good choice. My SC tide table has high tide  5.0 ft at 3:02 a.m., lo at 11:15, minus 0.4, so we should get a good ride out.   Friday looks like bigger surf and perhaps more fog.
