A while back there was a thread on different ways to fish. There were a few things posted I had never heard about, but what I found last weekend was pretty wild.
The GF wanted to hit Sunrise Mall Friday night while I was a passenger in her vehicle. That sucked BIG TIME until I was able to reach an agreement with her. She drops me off at Borders book store while she shops..Cool!
I found a book there titled "100 Weird Ways To Catch Fish". I pretty much read the whole thing while she was fighting the crowds.
If you ever get the chance to thumb through this book I highly recommend it. Guarenteed to make you laugh and raise an eyebrow.
Can't remember the last time I saw anyone using an Ox to haul in their sturgeon. The slingshot fishing and the helium baloon fishing were pretty cool to read too.

That's pretty cool .I guess the guy who wrote the book posted on a forum just like Brian did and got so many crazy answer's he wrote a book.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

You mean I could have made money on that thread!   :smt011     I can't believe I let a money making opportunity like that pass me by.

I think this WAF book should be written by Dave - he's got family & fishing time down to a science! Let's hear some of your secrets Dave  :secret!!!!

They say that there are no more original ideas.  I just did a google search on "wife approval factor" and "WAF" and alas, I'm evidently not the originator of the term. In fact, I'm not even the originator of the acromym "WAF".   In fact, "WAF" and "Wife approval factor" appear together on some 596 webpages.  Most of the time it seems this term is used in reference to the purchase of electronic gadgets by early adopters of new technology.  It even appears in wikipedia.  I guess somewhere in during the course of my over-exposure to popculture, the internet and other media outlets I must have picked it up.

Here's a good link...

I didn't however see any books listed on how to build up the WAF enough to take that dream fishing trip.  I may still have found my niche for writing a book and making my millions.

Got no real secrets, but the following helps...

  • Bring something tasty home
  • Leave early enough so that there's time after fishing for honey do's
  • Tell her that quality time counts, not quantity, and that there's little better than fishing to rejuvenate the spirit and enable that quality time :smt008
  • Threaten her with other, more expensive and all-consuming sports, like golf

Actually, I may end up with a tandem in '06.  You get unlimited WAF when not only you, but one of the kids, are out of the house.
