I just recently purchased a Hobie livewell and my understanding is that there are
some tricks to make it work even better the way it is. A little worried on some
tube that came with the system, I made one fabrication. Thought I'd share if
practical or not. Suggestions is welcome if I had missed anything before heading out with it.

Was that tube that you covered large enough for a minnow to escape through?  (I guess if it was really small)  That tube just sets the height of the water in the tank right?

How much did you pay for the tank Jedmo?

Normally it's $249 but Keith gave me a 20% discount so it came out to be $219.46
out the door. I figured I may go this route rather than buying the parts and
making my own. This way you know everything fits and just as good.

Hey Troy, yeah, the tube is actually big enough for the minnows to scape. I also
covered the tube where the water get sucks in. This may eliminate any sea weeds
from clogging the motor, I think anyways.
