dumb punk surfers, doing what they do best = protect their ?secret? waves. :smt012
but if there are no real_surfers to harass(scare away) :smt011
they will try it this holiday weekend for sure and should get busted..........stand by.
Dumb punks for sure. They would have been sorry if they would have nailed one of us.
I also reported this to the girl working in the gate house at NB and told her to let the Sate Park police know about it. Im hoping that they never try this again and realize how dangerous their actions were. A-K

I am already armed with a sling shot primarily for the seal and it looks like I may
have to use it also for the rock throwers. :smt011 Thanks for the heads up AK.
I hope they will not be there this weekend.

Thanks for sharing Darin and I hope the cops catch them before they hurt or kill someone!!!

My wife almost got hit by a rock thrown by some punks from the bridge in that gulch behind Longs a year or two ago....and she had Valentina in the stroller!!!  :smt013 :smt013 :smt013

Maybe we'll have to start wearing those whitewater helmets to Fish NB.  Or, post Big Jim with my bat gaff up in the eucalyptus grove while we fish....heh heh....

Sounds like a plan Allen!!   :smt003 :smt004

Sincerely,

Jim

Rock Throwers Target People In Santa Cruz
1:33
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - It's becoming a "rocky" situation in Santa Cruz!  As of Wednesday night, police are looking for the people throwing rocks at pedestrians.

First it was homes and businesses, then it was cars, now it's pedestrians!  Police say the rock throwers are at it yet again-- the latest attack happening right here on Soquel Drive.  And it could put you in danger.

"People must be mad about something right?  Why are people doing that though?" asked cyclist Mary Warn.

That's the question police, victims and the Santa Cruz community wants answers to.  Mary Warn rides her bike on Soquel Drive on a regular basis and didn't find out about last night's latest rock throwing incident until we told her about it.  She said a lot children walk along this road and said whoever is doing this needs to stop or someone could really get hurt.

"I'll be more cautious now that I know that, but I haven't seen it happen," said Warn.

Warn isn't the only concerned cyclist, everyone we talked to Wednesday night is worried.  I asked one woman if she feels comfortable walking around town.

"No! I think it needs to stop.  I mean we are all adults here nobody should be throwing rocks," said resident Annie Phan.

Police don't have a good description of the rock throwers.  Investigators could not confirm if they think these are the same people throwing rocks at homes and businesses, but people don't seem to care who it is.  They just want it to stop.

"I just think it's stupid and immature and people need to grow up.  There's no reason why rocks need to be thrown really," said Phan.

Police say no serious injuries have been reported.  If you have any information you can call Santa Cruz Police at 831-420-5995.
