I thought there was a "pimp your ride" post, but I can't find it, so here's my latest attempt to make part of my green kayak visible to the PB's in the dark by putting a sticker of Tap Plastics yellow vinyl material traced from a neighborhood watch sign (I'm reading"Watch out for suspicious behavior." as I put tracing paper over the sign!), a picture of another sticker, and in the photos is my newest way to carry by long sabiki pole in a "holster" of plastic gutter downspout and a cut off water bottle-it worked, and wasn't in the way or up getting a lot of windage.
