Fished from 9:00 until 3:30 for 6 largemouth, a 6 lb and a 4 lb and most others on 3" smoke senko.  I had to dig the 4 pounder out of the grass with my paddle.
I started getting striper bites on my new sebile soft swimmer in the silver minnow looking color, and since they were 16", I figured there had to be a keeper in there somewhere,  so I spent about two hours catching stripers on almost every cast.  My wife asked me what happened to my stomach, it is red and bruised from putting the butt of my rod there to reel all those undersized guys in. One was close enough that if I kept his mouth open and squeezed his tail he was big enough. After imagining a dfg ticket  I named him the 500 dollar fish and let him go.
This made me realize that I do not know the proper way to measure a striper.  I know his mouth should be shut but can I squeeze his tail like Iconelli does on t.v.?
Anyway the other cool thing that happened is a 1.3 lb bluegill hit my 3" senko and came home for dinner.  It tasted as good as I remember from childhood.
