It's pretty amazing to see the huge bleachers out on Arrowhead point and at the 17th green (where we park) to say nothing of the huge tents all over the place, but, it was very busy at the Beach Club launch area, and lots of workers were rolling around in all sorts of equipment.  And this was a Thursday.  So, if you go to SWS in the days before the US Open, be prepared for a lot more chaos than usual.  All the "stuff" sort of makes the place look crowded and blocks some pretty views, though it will probably not show up on TV that way.  I know next to nothing about golf, but even I could see they had cut the roughs a lot longer- maybe 6'' rather than the 2-3" usual.
It was a pretty day, warm with decorator clouds against bright blue background, could see every wrinkle on Pt Lobos and way up into the Carmel Valley.  Maybe 8-10mph breeze, some roll in the swells, but I got out well past Pescadero Pt with no problems - except I didn't catch much except one medium rocky and a barely legal and feisty but skinny Cabbie, who went back.  Got them both on squid on bare hooks after trying several artificials.

Never could see much point in golf. Even tried disc golf.

Wow, and to think that the tournament doesn't even begin until Thursday, June 17th.  In case anybody cares, it runs through Sunday, the 20th - Father's Day.

Yeah, they cut the edge of the fairway about 6" to make it more challenging for the tour pro. BTW, when I started with golf, I got hooked so bad into the game that I left fishing for a solid of
five years. I would even call in from work so much that when I was gone from my duties, the
management knew I was golfing.  :smt003 Thanks for the report Fuz.
