I traded my Dirigo SIK today for a hobie pusuit. I have read that the pursuit is a bit tippy. Should make a better fishing platform though.

I got one of those.  Got dump twice so far, no biggie  :smt003  I wouldn't take it to the big blue or Sturgeon fishing though!

The Pursuit is a neat little boat. It is fast! I've wanted one for a long time, but only for the sweetwater. It is tippy. A friend of mine has one as a recreational boat, and any time she loans it out it gets to tip someone over. It seems like big, tall guys are especially prone.
You don't know till you try it though, you might love it. Good luck.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I had one and sold it to an NCKA member - I met him at the Cove for the sale and we caught salmon that day.  I almost tipped him over by pushing off of him when we were close and I was helping him net one of his salmon.  Glad he caught those salmon that day or he may not have bought the boat from me!   :smt005

It was my first yak and was tippy - I dumped it once in the ocean down south of Bear Harbor.  Otherwise I did some dives and some fishing out of it in the ocean and on the rivers.  It's a neat little boat, but I didn't realize when I bought it that the capacity is only 220 I think - Me, a couple of 10 inchers, and my dive equipment and I had that thing damn near swamped for a mile paddle back to the launch out at the Cape years ago!

Good luck with it - I'm glad you got a SOT.   :smt001

Don't take it wrong.  It's a nice and fast kayak to padle and fishing in the bay or even rock fishing around kelp beds.  Just dress for immersion and leash all the gears that you don't want to loose  :smt003  Here is a couple pictures of my Pursuit.

I have a buddy in SD who has caught YT and WSB from his super-old Hobie Pursuit. And I think Rhyak was paddling a Pursuit for years before upgrading. So it's not the worst boat to have.

If you're coming from the Sit Inside you're already used to a tippy feel, so this boat should do fine for now.
