Do any of you guys target sharks? I love shark fishing from the yak and the beach. All the sharks I catch are let go to catch another day. The gear I use in the yak is a penn senator 113h and an old jigmaster 500l. From shore I use senator 113h, 114h, 115 and the crown jewel 14/0 on a custom fenwick  130-unlimited class rod. On the texas coast we have several sets of breakers. We (from shore) yak our baits out 300-800 yds out and drop a nice ray or tuna head. Before we got a yak we were forced to swim baits out, definatly not 800yds. But passed all the breakers. That was always a little scarry splashing on top of the water while your bait is underneath you oozing all the stuff sharks like to munch on. Fortunatly no bad exp. The first run from a shark is the greatest! Your clicker screaming and click to engage and the fight is on! Hope for those who havent tried, give it a shot. Great fun

Welcome aboard Christian.  I don't target Sharks but caught a few of them while fishing for other species.  The biggest shark I've ever caught was a 6+ ft Black Tip back in Texas from a boat but I can tell you it's much more exciting when I caught the 51" Thresher from a kayak.
