Well after checking out the weather reports, it seems like we'll get a break coming friday thru the weekend. Anybody going out this weekend friday, sat, or sun, Monterey area or Santa cruz? Will be staying in watsonville with family but trying to do some fishing all three days. I wanna hit Stillwater this time, LoversPoint for sure, and give the Santa Cruz or Capitola area A shot as well! Does anybody know if Bocchi Boy in santa cruz has live bait yet?

Bocci is going to try a set tonight.  Upper harbor is plugged with nmice 5" sardines, but there's a quartet of sea lions working them so He can;t put his net ou this morning.

Sounds like they would be easy to ji=g if they're still around this wekend.

Also bait right outside the harbor, here and there, shallow.  take your sabiki.

Things are generally slow in Santa Crux this week. Weather has kept many boats tied to the dock.

Four commercial salmon guys are out front doing a scientific study,  only four fish caught yesterday (salmon) between the four commercial boats, so its sloooow.

No word on halibut and rockfish is ok if you hit the right spot.  south rock and /WWest side of town  reefs seem to be the bewt these days.

Have safe be fun, and call NCKA on 69 .

If i wasn't stuck taking the little one to Disneyland this weekend I'd be in for sure... Think they'd mind if I do some trolling in Pirates of the Caribbean?

thanks guys. i currently dont have a  vhf as i think i lost mine but just hoping to get something set for sure and then see some guys out there. if the weather is doable on friday morning then ill go out of santa cruz for sure and to see if they got lived bait. Lovers point on sat and stillwater on sunday as it seems to be the best day out there. has anyone ever bought live bait frim bocchi's before for the kayak? There's no way i can even hold a half scoop in my bait tank and was thinking if they would hook it up with just 15-25 anchovies or sardines at most for me! It just doesnt make any since to buy a half scoop of bait and then have them all die from being over crowded in a small tank like mine, right? they should hook up us kayakers with bait and under for less than $20 for less bait, right?

I've offered him 5$ for him to fill my minnow bucket and he gives me too many every time!

Yes, Bocci will even split a $5 scoop between two yaksters, as they did for me and Dave Cheng at the last santa cruz derby.  They be cool like that and its totally worth it.  I'd rather drop a cinco, support a local business, and not have to tangle with the sabiki

I'll be launching out of the SC harbor Saturday at 6:30-7ish. Plan on hitting Bocci on the way out and making my way towards the mile reef to drift for halibut and, if that fails, rockies. Gotta have something for the grill Saturday PM. Company welcome, or give me a shout on 69.
